What’s involved in learning to scuba dive with Red sea tribe?

Learning to scuba dive is an incredible adventure!

With Red Sea Tribe as your diving center and PADI as your training organization, your path to breathing underwater is accomplished in three exciting phases:

1. Knowledge Development
Learn the lingo! During the first phase of your PADI Open Water Diver scuba certification, you develop an understanding of the basic principles of scuba diving. You learn things like how pressure affects your body, how to choose the best scuba gear and what to consider when planning dives.

You briefly review what you have studied in the five knowledge sections with your instructor and take a short quiz to be sure you’re getting it. At the end of the course, you’ll take a longer quiz that makes sure you have all the key concepts and ideas down. You and your instructor will review anything that you don’t quite get until it’s clear.

With Red Sea tribe you can select the knowledge development option you prefer:

– Start right now and learn to scuba dive online with PADI eLearning at your own pace—anytime, anywhere (great for busy schedules).
– Contact us now and book you diving course with Red Sea Tribe (great value holiday plans and fantastic diving).
– Attend a scheduled scuba diving class at your local PADI dive shop (great for meeting new friends and dive buddies).

Take advantage of home study using PADI multimedia materials (manual, video, CD-Rom) so less classroom time when you are in Dahab.

2. Confined Water Dives – Scuba Skills Training

This is what it’s all about – diving. You develop basic scuba skills by diving in shallow water with pool-like conditions surrounded by fish. You will learn everything from setting up your scuba gear to how to easily get water out of your scuba mask without surfacing. You’ll also practice some emergency skills, like sharing air or replacing your scuba mask.

Plus, you may play some games, make new friends and have a great time.

There are five confined water dives, with each building upon the previous. Over the course of these five dives, you attain the skills you need to dive in open water.

3. Open Water Dives
After your confined water dives, you and the new friends you’ve made continue learning during four open water dives with your Red Sea Tribe PADI Instructor at a dive site. This is where you fully experience the underwater adventure – at the beginner level, of course. You may make these dives near the diving center or after a 20 min. jeep drive to the south of Dahab.

How long does it take to get certified with Red Sea Tribe, Dahab?

It takes only a few days to get certified. It’s possible to complete your confined and open water dives in as few as three or four days.

You can also save yourself some classroom time while you are on your holiday in Dahab by completing the theory portion online via PADI eLearning or through some home study using PADI materials.

And it is good to know that with Red Sea Tribe the PADI Open Water Diver course is incredibly flexible and performance based, which means that we offer a wide variety of schedules, paced according to how fast you progress.

Red Sea Tribe instructors are interested in you learning to scuba dive, not in how long you sit in a classroom. So training is based upon demonstrating that you know what you need to know and can do what you need to do. This means that you progress at your own pace – faster or slower depending upon the time you need to become a confident scuba diver who dives regularly. and of course you can start learning to scuba dive online right now with PADI eLearning.

BE A RESPONSIBLE AND GREEN TRAVELLER

We urge you to be aware of how your actions and decisions impact the reef and ocean ecosystems, both for your safety and for the protection of the environment.

We all love the Red Sea.

But love of the sea brings with it a responsibility to protect it. Be a responsible traveller and do your best to make sure that your holiday fun is not damaging the environment.

One of the best ways you can do this is to follow the regulations of the National Parks – even though the coast around Dahab is not part of a park, these are common sense rules.  Do the right thing! – people have the ability to make history and create positive change.

Egypt established the first National Park in 1983 at Ras Mohammed in order to protect both the marine and land environments.

The two National Parks that border Dahab – Nabq to the south, and Ras Abu Galum to the north – were designated in 1992.

The fourth National Park around the Dahab area is the St Katherine Protectorate formed in 1996 covering the spectacular scenery around St Katherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai.

Upkeep of these special areas is funded through visitor fees so be happy to pay and enjoy the experience!

Here are the National Parks regulations:

  • Do not collect, remove or damage any material, living or dead, from Protected Areas (corals, shells, fish, plants, fossils, etc.).
  • It is prohibited to drive off marked tracks and to drive any motor vehicles on any beach.
  • Camping is prohibited unless in designated areas (by notice).
  • Do not litter. Place garbage in proper disposal containers or take it with you.
  • It is prohibited to access any closed area.
  • It is prohibited to walk or anchor on any reef area. Please used marked access points.
  • Fish feeding upsets the biological balance on the reef and is therefore prohibited.
  • Fishing and spearfishing are not allowed in Protected Areas.
  • All visitors must leave Protected Areas by sunset unless using a designated camping area.
  • Access to diving areas is recommended at designated access points only. This reduces damage to reef areas.
  • Please take note of any instructions posted in Protected Areas.Offenders are subject to prosecution according to the terms of Law 102 of 1983.
